Construction Begins at Former Greenwich Street Church

New, 1 comment

The site of a former church-turned-Buddhist-Temple is currently under construction in Pennsport. The lot was recently split in to two separate lots, consisting of 240 Greenwich Street and 243 Tasker Street. Two large houses, designed by Landmark Architectural Design, are going to replace the site of the church that was first built in 1866. Crews have recently been on the scene clearing the debris left from demolition that started back in January. Later on, the site was home to the Khmer Palelai Buddhist Temple to "serve South Philadelphia's burgeoning Cambodian population." The temple has since moved to Southwest Philadelphia. ·A New Year, A New Demolition In Pennsport [Hidden City]
