'Read, Rest, Reflect' at Drexel's New On Campus Hotel

The Study at University City, a new "college-oriented" 10-story, 212 room hotel at 33rd and Chestnut Street, was given approval by the Philadelphia City Planning Commission after the necessary changes were made to the Drexel University Institutional Master Plan. Designed by DIGSAU, the plans for the hotel include 7,000 square feet of banquet space and a large restaurant on the ground floor. The project will be built by Hospitality 3, whose mantra for their hotels is "Read, Rest, Reflect," also own The Study at Yale in Connecticut. It will be run by Study Hotels, a subsidiary of Hospitality 3.

The Triangle recently spoke with Drexel's Senior Vice President of Student Life and Administrative Services James R. Tucker about the proposed hotel project. "First and foremost, parents and families from out of town will have the option to stay in world-class accommodations right on Drexel's campus when they visit students during orientation, commencement, move-in and move-out, and other milestone events throughout the year."
