AQ Rittenhouse is Going Strong, Looking to Lease Retail

New, 4 comments

Construction on AQ Rittenhouse, a new 12-story luxury apartment building at 2021 Chestnut Street, is going strong after the groundbreaking in April. It will replace the long vacant YWCA and be situated in some prime real estate near Rittenhouse Square and among the restaurant and shops on Chestnut Street. According to the marketing brochure, CBRE | Fameco is looking for tenants of it's 4,236 square foot ground floor retail space. And while an opening date of "Fall 2014" was thrown around earlier, this brochure lists the retail space will be available by November. Yes, that's the fall, but it's nice to have a month attached to it.

The north stretch of Chestnut Street in front of AQ Rittenhouse has been closed to pedestrians and crews are busy constructing the tower that will house 110 luxury apartments. The amenities sound pretty spectacular, a dog washing station, large interior bike storage and repair facility, roof top community gathering space, "luxurious" roof deck with hot tubs, grill, and fire pits, a yoga room, wifi cafe and of course, a fitness center. It will be a mix of studio, one and two bedroom apartments and will also house the Freire Charter School in the basement of the complex. So, to recap, we have a 12-story luxury apartment tower in an awesome location with ridiculous amenities, a large retail space with the possibility of multiple tenants and this thing houses a school. That sounds pretty damn special.
