You Simply Have to See Duhring's Former Chestnut Hill Home

New, 3 comments

We're just going to going to get out of the way from this one as only the pictures can really do it justice — outside of seeing this $1.75 million stunner in person. Located on Rex Avenue just off of Fairmount Park in Chestnut Hill, this gorgeous nine bed, six bath estate is dripping with the touches of its former owner (and partial designer) H. Louis Duhring. The front of the house was built in the 1860s, with the rear portion designed by Duhring in the 1920s. Simply put: it's massive, has all the trappings of a Victorian Italianate "summer" house and, if it isn't used has an impressive mansion for a some uber-history nerd, it should probably be turned into one of the most desirable bed and breakfasts in the area. For know, just simply enjoy the pictures. ·208-10 REX Ave PHILADELPHIA, PA [Redfin]
