For Sale: Could this Chestnut Street Building Sell for $10m?

New, 2 comments

Remember how HughE Dillion of PhillyChitChat tweeted it out there that rumors say Jay Z might be opening a club at the former Today's Man spot? It turns out that the building, located at 1528 Chestnut Street, could possibly be sold for as much as $10 million. It's up for sale now through Jones Lang Lasalle and the lease of its current occupant, Modell's Sporting Goods, runs out in January of 2017. Now, we don't know if the Jay Z club rumors have any legs, but we do know that 10 million is some serious coin — and serious coin is something the Jiggaman definitely has.

At almost 26,000 square feet, the two-story building is quite large and runs from Chestnut Street all the way back to Sansom Street. As the Philadelphia Business Journal points out, the building is zoned CMX-5 and could lead to the redevelopment of the property in to something much larger and higher down the road.
