There is an interesting and rare development dispute going on in Roxborough pertaining to an eight acre parcel of land near the Schuylkill River, and it could get pricey. Developer Greg Ventresca is suing the city for $2.5M for "taking" the land he bought nine years ago. See, the site needed a paving ordinance to extend Cinnaminson Street into the property and it was never granted by City Council, causing major delays on the project. Essentially, it's de facto eminent domain. While it's exceedingly difficult to prove, Ventresca already won a case in the Court of Common Pleas and now the city is on the defense. [The Inquirer]
