This house in North Philly has sat vacant for so long that a tree has literally grown up and through the foundation of the building. It was so poorly maintained that it held up part of the second floor, which collapsed onto the tree over time and actually saved the neighbors' house from damage. Apparently, it had slipped through the cracks — the house not the tree — of the L+I's enormous backlog of nearly 600 properties deemed "imminently dangerous." [Daily News]
