Jose Garces Losing Four Restaurants; Serpico and Fork, Reviewed

ATLANTIC CITY — When Revel announced its plan to shut down by September, it dealt a huge blow to celeb chef Jose Garces, who operates four restaurants at the casino. After the story hit, the Garces Group gave us an official statement confirming that while their A.C. locations remain open for now, they're preparing to close up shop.

FIRST-PERSON HISTORY — Chef and restaurateur Mike Solomonov opened up this week about his history of addiction, which includes serious struggles with crack cocaine and heroin. After the initial story, he followed up with the Inquirer's Craig LaBan and on WHYY's Radio Times.

GRADUATE HOSPITAL — Those of us waiting to see what's to come at Resurrection Ale House (whose owners announced recently their intent to close the bar) got at least a glimpse of insight this week: The new owners have come forward, and while they're not sharing a new name or any specifics yet, they've let slip a few hints.

ROAD TO THE 38 — This week, Eater National critic Bill Addison wraps up his trip to Philly by filing two more reviews: one on Serpico, and a twofer covering Fork and High Street on Market.
