The folks at the Citizens Planning Institute (CPI) said it best: "Change is inevitable. It will happen whether our community is prepared or not." That's why you should get involved in the course of change. And you can, by applying to the pretty cool program that empowers citizens to take an active role in shaping their city.
Accepted program participants learn from speakers, neighborhood leaders, and local activists. If you want to make change in your neighborhood, but don't know how, then this is the program for you. Elective classes include names like Healthy Communities and Green Streets. The CPI is the official education and outreach arm of the Philadelphia City Planning Commission, so these are some key people to know if you want to get something done.
And so, what are you waiting for? Start planning your planning application now (pun intended).
Apply here before the September 25 deadline to be considered.
