What $1,800 a Month Rents Around Philly Right Now

Welcome back to Curbed Comparisons, a dive into the options available for a certain price point in various neighborhoods. Is one person's loft another persons's townhouse? Let's find out! Today's price: $1,800/month.

Fairmount (2 beds, 2 baths)—This new construction at 20th and Parrish is looking for its first-ever tenants. Just a couple of blocks from the Eastern State Penitentiary, the 1,200-square-foot property features hardwood floors, cherry kitchen cabinets, and a backyard patio. Both bedrooms have their own full baths.

University City (studio, 1 bath)—At 582 square feet, you won't have much space to entertain, but at least you'll have great views of the city and plenty of amenities. Residents at 3601 Market St. also have access to a game room, a 24-hour gym, and a salt-water rooftop pool.

Center City (1 bed, 1 bath)—This single family house at 1206 Saint James St. is a two-floor property that features original hardwood floors. The backyard comes with a grill; the upstairs is loft style and features the one bedroom and space for an office or den. Laundry is in the basement.

Old City (2 beds, 2 baths)—This loft-style apartment in the historic neighborhood is situated at the Chancery Lane at 130 Arch St. Residents can pay extra to have upgrades made to the apartment. They also have access to a community courtyard and rooftop.

Conshohocken (3 beds, 1.5 baths)—For $1,800 you can rent out an entire home on a tree-lined street in the 'burbs. In addition to three bedrooms, this Conshohocken home features a finished basement as well as a detached one-car garage.
