Manayunk Converted Church With Cathedral Ceilings Asks $229K

The bad news first: Unlike two other condos in this converted church, this unit does not come with its own bell tower. And maybe that's why it's having such a hard time finding a buyer. We first wrote about this 1-bed, 1.5-bath unit a few years ago when it was asking for $245,000. It's one of the converted loft condos in Wissahickon Methodist Church, which was built in 1908 and converted in 2003. But what it lacks in bell towers it makes up in architectural details: Original church plaster and wood moldings, exposed wooden beams, stained glass windows, and steel fencing along the loft area, which functions as the bedroom. The 1,060-square-foot unit also comes with parking in the garage on the first floor. The asking price of this holier-than-thou condo on 3849 Terrace St. is now $229,000.
