Land Bank a Boon to Green Thumbs

Hidden City digs into the lives of Philadelphia's urban farmers, who are hopeful that securing land and property for urban farming will become easier now that the Philadelphia Land Bank is officially up and running, but who also know that there still is a tough row to hoe in terms of community engagement and education. "I think there's a responsibility on all of us—City agencies and advocates–to ensure that residents understand how to get legal access to land," says lawyer Amy Laura Cahn. "We need to make sure that new urban farmers and the ones who've been doing it since the 1960s have the same access to information and opportunities for land as others in the city." [Hidden City]
