Last summer, Asian Arts Initiative, with the Center for Architecture and Friends of the Rail Park, was awarded a grant to develop Pearl Street, an alleyway that extends for four blocks through Philadelphia's Chinatown North/Callowhill neighborhood. The goal is to transform the derelict alley into a cultural space to promote and connect the creativity and social vibrancy between people and place. The transformation will be celebrated with Pearl Street Passage - a temporary exhibition of experimental land art installations created by multidisciplinary teams of architects, designers, artists, and builders working in the Greater Philadelphia area. DesignPhiladelphia is currently seeking architects, designers, artists, and construction companies/builders interested in joining a team and making Pearl Street Passage a reality. At tonight's informational session, DesignPhiladelphia will discuss the production schedule, project specifications, stipend, and other details. RSVP is required. Where/When: Center for Architecture (1218 Arch Street)/5:30pm [Design Philadelphia]
