The Tumblr Philly-Parking-Wasteland is dedicated to documenting the vast swaths of surface parking in all neighborhoods of Philadelphia. Why? Because "when residents are provided and accustomed to cheap parking they become disengaged from public transit. When public transit is not engaged by whole communities it suffers. It's not a stretch to say your commute in another part of the city is worse because somebody gets to park in the middle of the street.
