The Director of Advocacy for the Preservation Alliance of Greater Philadelphia, Ben Leech, has a job on his hands today. What is it? Nominate four buildings in the 700 block of Chestnut Street.
Of the four, only 719 Chestnut is currently designated, according to an Alliance survey. The issue is that much of the other three buildings nominated have been replaced, chopped down, or added on to in many layers, so they haven't quite been preserved in their original splendor. But each of them are still gloriously beautiful and ornate. View all of the properties in detail here.
