The always epic Christmas Village is back for its eighth year, opening for the first time at City Hall (since LOVE Park is under construction).
That means the country’s biggest city building is now the place to be this holiday season, since it features more than 80 outdoor vendors and a carousel in the courtyard—not to mention the ice-skating rink and winter garden maze at Dilworth Park.
The Christmas Village, which officially opened on Thanksgiving Day and runs through December 24, is modeled after the traditional German Christmas markets, which date back to the Middle Ages.
Not feeling the holiday spirit quite yet? Local videographer Cory J. Popp’s video of opening weekend at the Christmas Village should change that.
