It's the most wonderful time of the year! Today marks the start of Curbed Cup 2016, our annual competition to name the best neighborhood in Philly. And this year, it’s bigger and better than ever, with 16 neighborhoods in the running instead of the usual eight.

But before the battle begins, we need your nominations! Some important background: Each year Curbed Philly pits neighborhoods against each other in a winner-take-all bracket challenge. Passyunk Square took the inaugural title in 2012, followed by East Passyunk in 2013. In 2014, Fishtown won the coveted cup. Pennsport, the No. 8 underdog came out on top in a nail-biting 2015 Curbed Cup.

Here's where you come in: Nominate your neighborhood by leaving a comment in this post or shooting us an email to the tipline. We'll tabulate the entries to form a Sweet 16 of the Philly neighborhoods. Then, we'll put it to a reader vote between Dec. 12 and Dec. 31. The winner gets crowned the top neighborhood in January.

And don't just namedrop. Tell us why your neighborhood deserves to win the Curbed Cup! Has it been a boon for development? Do restaurants and retail set up shop on the regular? (Just remember: Every sliver of Philly is someone's home, so be kind to your neighbor by not badmouthing their 'hood.) Give us the insider’s scoop today and it could be the reason your neighborhood takes the title in 2016.
