AMOR sculpture has a new home in Sister Cities Park

It was officially dedicated on Friday

The iconic AMOR sculpture by Robert Indiana that once graced the Rocky Steps at the Philadelphia Museum of Art has a new home just down the parkway.

Indiana’s artwork was installed and officially dedicated at Sister Cities Park on Friday afternoon, after its temporary location front and center at the art museum. It was moved to the steps during the Pope’s 2015 visit.

The Philadelphia Art Commission approved AMOR’s move to Sister Cities Park in September, given its prominent and easily accessible location on the Benjamin Franklin Parkway.

With the dedication, Indiana will have two of his iconic sculptures on the Parkway: AMOR in Sister Cities and the LOVE statue, which will return to LOVE Park after its renovations finish up in 2017.
