AIA Philadelphia Wants Your Best Napkin Sketches of Philly

A napkin and pen are the tools for your masterpiece

Everyone knows the best ideas often come from doodling on a napkin in a coffee shop. That's why AIA Philadelphia is back with its annual Sketch Showcase—and it wants your masterpieces.

The annual Sketch Showcase is a free contest that AIA Philadelphia holds every year that ends in an exhibit of the winning sketches. In past years the showcase didn't require a theme, but this year, the competition is a little different: All entries should be inspired by Philadelphia.

The chosen entries will be featured in the Philadelphia Center for Architecture and Design from May 19-22 during the national AIA Convention.

Here are the details:

  • The sketch must be in black ink on a 5''x5'' white background
  • It must be inspired by Philadelphia (think architects, iconic buildings, public spaces, and hidden gems).
  • You can submit up to five napkin sketches.
  • Deadline to submit: Friday, April 15

The Philadelphia Center for Architecture and Design has more details on how to submit your sketch.
