It's no surprise that renting is all the rage in Philly, with the city's influx of millennials driving up demand. Now, a new report reveals the top neighborhoods sought out by renters, with somewhat surprisingly, Logan-Ogontz-Fernwood taking the top spot.
That's according to Zumper's latest Philadelphia Market Demand report, which analyzed "several thousand" calls and inquiries about rental properties in Philadelphia to come up with the data. That means apparently a majority of folks who consulted Zumper's listings sought out Northwest Philadelphia neighborhoods the most during February.
In fact, there were 18 percent more inquiries about Logan-Ogontz-Fern Rock than Frankford, which came in second.
Here's the full list:
1. Logan – Ogontz – Fern Rock
2. Frankford
3. Germantown
4. Kensington
5. Northern Liberties – Fishtown
6. Spruce Hill
7. Port Richmond
8. Tacony – Wissinoming
9. North Philadelphia West
10. Washington Square West
The report also found that most inquiries were regarding one-bedroom units, with folks looking in the $750/month range. That's considerably lower than the average rental price of a one-bedroom right now, which is around $1,300. Inquiries about two-bedroom inquiries followed, with people looking for $920/month.
