Plenty of cranes continue to dot Philly's skyline as the city's construction boom forges ahead. The construction photo blog Tectonic recently snapped photos of a few major construction projects, including two major high rises: FMC Tower in University City and the Comcast Tower II building in Center City, which is slated to be the tallest tower in Philadelphia.
FMC Tower
Brandywine Realty is behind the FMC Tower at Cira Centre South, which broke ground in 2014 and is expected to be complete in 2017. Designed by Pelli Clark Pelli Architects, FMC Tower at 30th and Walnut streets will be home to AKA residences, 100,000 square feet of office space for Penn, and 10,000 square feet of retail.
Comcast Tower of Innovation and Technology
The core of the Comcast Innovation and Technology Center already makes an impressive appearance along Philly's skyline. When complete around the end of 2017, the $1.2 billion, 59-story tower designed by Foster + Partners will include a Four Seasons Hotel, office space, and restaurant and retail space.
