Philly Rent: What $1,500 Gets Right Now

From West Passyunk to University City, Queen Village to Center City, and East Falls

Welcome to Curbed Comparisons, a dive into the options available for a certain price point in various neighborhoods. Is one person's loft another one's townhouse? Let's find out! Today's price: $1,500/month.

West Passyunk (3 beds, 2 baths)—You can rent an entire rowhome for $1,500 a month on the west side of Passyunk Avenue. The home has been updated with refinished hardwood floors, an electric fireplace in the living area, and a finished basement for extra space. There's also a quaint little back patio. Sorry, no pets.

Queen Village (2 beds, 1 bath)—When it's available in June, this 534-square-foot apartment in Queen Village wants $1,500/month. Access to the apartment is on rear of the property through a gated, cobblestoned street. Inside, the unit has been recently renovated, with new kitchen appliances and finishes and refinished hardwood floors. There's a working fireplace, a spiral staircase, and pets are welcome for a fee.

University City (1 bed, 1 bath)—Located in the Post Brothers-owned Garden Court Plaza, this unit is renting for $1,455/month and clocks in at 1,010 square feet. Amenities include a rooftop garden terrace, access to an attached parking garage, and a dog park. So yes, it's also pet-friendly. It's also not far from Baltimore Avenue's restaurants and shops and Clark Park.

East Falls (2 beds, 2 baths)—If you frequent Lincoln Drive on the weekends and want easier access, check out this East Falls apartment in the Rittenhouse Terrace Apartments. Located on the third floor, it has new appliances and modern finishes, and laundry is in the unit. One parking spot is included in the $1,495/month rent.

Center City (1 bed, 1 bath)—This unit at 2121 Market is directly above the only Trader Joe's in Center City. Imagine no longer having to deal with ridiculously crowded parking lots when all you want is some delicious Cookie Butter from TJ's. The unit itself, which rents for $1,530/month, is 750 square feet and has access to a new gym and a sky lounge. Pets welcome.
