Historic Rittenhouse Square Carriage House Needs TLC and $1.65M

The fixer upper comes with a ton of potential

We love a good adaptive reuse project as much as the next person, which is why someone needs to snatch up this Rittenhouse Square carriage house ASAP. It's listed on the Philadelphia Register of Historic Places, and definitely needs some TLC—and $1.65 million.

The historic property is located on Chadwick Street, a quaint block lined by charming rowhomes. The 4-bedroom, 1-bath home clocks in at 3,790 square feet and includes a four-car garage—not that you'll need it being in the heart of Center City.

Jeff Block, who is co-handling the listing with Missy Tewksbury, says, "Buyers always say they wish there were more carriage houses—extra-wide and not vertical. This one is historic, in Rittenhouse, and has potential to create a world-class home."

Currently, the owners have the second floor set up as an apartment with three bedrooms. But there's potential to add onto the carriage house or build a roof deck.
