French Norman Mt. Airy Home by Robert McGoodwin Asks $1.295M

It was designed and built for the Woodward family

The legacy of local architect Robert McGoodwin can be found all throughout Chestnut Hill and Mt. Airy. His personal residence hit the market in April, and now one of the many homes he built for the Woodward family is for sale.

This 6-bedroom, 4-bath home was built in 1929 for big-time developer George Woodward. Like many of McGoodwin’s designs, this picturesque home looks like it belongs in a French village, with its stone exterior and turret.

It’s colorful and cozy inside. There are three working fireplaces, Mercer tiling, and a winding staircase. Out back, there are two patios and a pool.

This home at 7311 Elbow Lane—a private road just on the edge of Fairmount Park—is on the market for $1,295,000.
