Northern Liberties may be a top U.S. boom town, and East Passyunk may be the coolest, but Bella Vista is the best neighborhood to live in Philadelphia, according to a new ranking.
PhillyMag reported about Niche.com’s latest report, which ranked nearly every neighborhood in Philadelphia based on crime, schools, cost of living, job opportunities, and local amenities.
Bella Vista came out on top and Pennypack Woods was dead last. Here are the neighborhoods that filled out the top 10. Interestingly, the top four neighborhoods are in South Philly.

- Passyunk Square
- Hawthorne
- Queen Village
- Old City
- Fitler Square
- Northern Liberties
- Graduate Hospital
- Dickinson Narrows
- Wissahickon
While all 10 neighborhoods achieved good grades, they all received C’s in one factor: Cost of living.
