Another midcentury modern home just outside of Philly is on the market and has ties to Robert McElroy, a local architect responsible for a number of modern homes built in the ‘burbs.
The 4-bedroom, 3-bath home was built in 1986 by William Felton, a partner and builder of McElroy. True to the architect’s style, the home features a diamond-shaped roof, tall vaulted ceilings, and large windows.
It has undergone a number of updates over the years: There’s a new roof, a renovated kitchen with a big skylight, and upgraded bathrooms. The owners also put in a pool in the backyard. There’s room for it—the home sits on 2.5 acres surrounded by trees.
Like most McElroy homes, this 3,774-square-foot house is hidden away from busy roads and street life. But it’s only about 14 miles from Philadelphia city limits.
The asking price is $820,000, down $30,000 from when it first listed in June.
