Main Line midcentury modern by Robert McElroy seeks $599K

But ... it’s contingent

On our constant quest to find all of the midcentury moderns hidden in the Philly ‘burbs, we stumbled upon yet another Robert McElroy-designed stunner in Bryn Mawr, a suburb on the Main Line.

Only this time, we’re a little too late. This 4-bedroom, 2-bath home hit the market in June for $725,000, and as of August 19 it is contingent, according to Redfin.

The midcentury modern was built in 1960 and designed by local architect Robert McElroy, whose work can be found all throughout the Main Line and surrounding Philadelphia suburbs. The listing states that the 2,510-square-foot home has been updated over the years; it has a new roof and kitchen, for example.

But classic McElroy features remain, including the cantilevered roof, big windows, and location; so many of his homes are often nestled into lush landscapes. This particular home features a large back porch that looks over the property’s two koi ponds.

Like we said, the $599K property is contingent, but it’s still worth keeping an eye out on this beaut. Plus, his other two homes in Penn Valley and Conshohocken are still up for grabs.
