Spruce Hill home with in-law suite on beautiful block asks $549K

It’s surprisingly spacious

Most of the homes in Spruce Hill are grand, Victorian twins that boast large, open front porches. Yet the street between 45th and Larchwood always sticks out due to the smaller but colorful, boxy rowhomes that feature closed-in sun rooms. One of them is now on the market, and there are plenty of welcome surprises on the inside.

The first feature that impresses is the tiled floor in the all-seasons glass sunroom. From there, the recently refinished hardwood floors stretch from the expansive living area with a cozy fireplace through the dining room.

It’s a shot-gun style home, so the renovated kitchen is in the back and has an interesting setup: The refrigerator and cabinetry are in one room followed by the stove in the next room over. That opens to a shaded back porch.

While the finishes are nice, the size of the home is even more surprising. It may not look like it from the outside, but this home clocks in at 2,101 square feet and features five bedrooms and 3.5 baths. There’s a private stairwell access to the third level, which features two of the bedrooms and its own small kitchen. Consider it a potential in-law suite or rental unit.

Good eats and parks aren’t far, either. The classy Marigold Kitchen is on one end of the street, and Milk & Honey cafe is sits on the corner at Baltimore Avenue. Clark Park is a block away.

The asking price of this home is $549,000 and there is an open house this Sunday, August 7 from 1 to 3 p.m.
