A beautiful Victorian in Mt. Airy has listed for just under $500,000 after undergoing a major renovation that involved restoring antique shutters and architectural details within the 20th-century home.
The single-family property had seen better days. Built in the early 1900s, it sold for just $140,000 last year while in seriously poor shape. For the past year, owners Holly Rehfuss and Judith Ferrara have worked with Jetts Construction for the restoration, bringing the 4-bedroom, 2.5-bath property back to life.
Here’s how the exterior looked last year compared to today.
Says Rehfuss, "The work [Lyle Jett] did restoring the antique shutters, hardware, original built-ins, along with blending old and new is just outstanding."
In the kitchen, for example, the backsplash and island were built from 100-year-old beams salvaged from the home. The random-width hardwood floors are original to the 2,500-square-foot property, too.
The asking price of this home at 130 E. Gorgas Lane is $449,900. There’s an open house this Thursday, September 15 from 5 to 7 p.m.
