Park(ing) Day, one of the coolest annual events in Philly, returns today with artists, designers, and planners transforming dozens of parking spots into mini parks throughout the city.
Park(ing) Day kicked off today at 8 a.m. When the San Francisco-founded event first came to Philadelphia in 2008, some 25 artists, businesses, and designers participated in the event.
Nine years later, that number has doubled, with more than 50 metered parking spots throughout Philly participating in the event that promotes green and pedestrian-friendly urban spaces.
Here’s a regularly updated map with all of the participating parklets. Start exploring—the event ends at 5 p.m. today.
