Grace Kelly’s childhood home in East Falls sells $25K above asking price

It went for $775,000

After hitting the market in June and undergoing a number of price chops, Princess Grace Kelly’s childhood home in East Falls has sold for $25,000 above its asking price.

According to public records, the home sold on September 23 for $775,000. It went under contract in the beginning of September.

Curbed Philly first reported of the brick colonial’s listing in June for a solid $1 million. It sat without much action for a few weeks, and chopped $150K off its price tag in July, and another $100K in August.

The 6-bedroom, 4-bath home features a historical marker out front that mentions the property’s significance. Grace Kelly lived in the 4,000-square-foot house during her childhood, and eventually the Prince of Monaco proposed to her there over the holidays.

Yet after Kelly's mom sold the home, it fell into disrepair and was discovered filled with cats in 2013. With the new sale, fingers crossed that the princess’s childhood home finds its happily ever after.
