President Trump is scheduled to visit Philly on Thursday for a GOP retreat at Loews Hotel (also known as the PSFS Building) at 12th and Market. If you found yourself passing through the area today, you probably noticed that fence barricades have already been installed along the surrounding blocks and many, many police officers are milling about.

The GOP meeting is already underway and runs through Friday. President Trump will only attend on Thursday. Here are all the road closures, parking restrictions, SEPTA detours, and protests scheduled to take place.

Street closures

These roads will be closed from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Thursday. When dignitaries, i.e. Trump, leave, expect more “rolling” road closures.

  • 13th Street from Chestnut Street to Market Street
  • Market Street from 11th Street to Juniper Street
  • 12th Street from Chestnut to Arch Street

No parking

You will not be able to park here starting 6 a.m. on Thursday through the evening. (For what it’s worth, the no parking restriction was already enforced as of Wednesday afternoon.)

  • 13th Street from Chestnut to Market Streets
  • Market Street from 11th Street to Juniper Street
  • 12th Street from Chestnut to Arch Street

If your car gets towed, you’ll find it at the PPA impoundment lot at 2501 S. Weccacoe Avenue in South Philly.

No pedestrian access

Starting at 6 a.m. on Thursday, there will be a security perimeter on these streets, established by the U.S. Secret Service.

  • 1100 and 1200 block of Market – both north and south sides
  • 12th Street from Chestnut to Filbert Streets – both east and west sides
  • 13th Street from Chestnut to Market Streets – both east and west sides

SEPTA Detours

  • 13th Station will be closed on Thursday at 5 a.m. Use the Dilworth Park entrance for the Market-El Frankford line instead.
  • The Market Street entrances to Jefferson Station will be closed. Use the entrances on 11th Street.
  • These bus routes will be detoured: 17, 23, 33, 38, 44, 45, 48, 62, 78, 124, 125, and MFO

Protest(s)

While there are a number of smaller protests scheduled throughout the day, the only permitted protest is scheduled to take place between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Thursday. They’re expecting 3,000 people, so take that into consideration if you’re trying to get around Center City.
