What $1,500 rents in Philly right now

With options in Logan Square, Cedar Park, South Philly, and more

Welcome back to Curbed Comparisons, a dive into the options available for a certain price point in various Philly neighborhoods. Is one person’s townhouse another’s studio. Let’s find out! This week we’re looking at options renting for around $1,500 a month.

Cedar Park (2 beds, 1 bath)—Here in the leafy West Philly neighborhood of Cedar Park is a two-bedroom apartment that was just renovated this past summer. The unit, located in a rowhome, has a new kitchen and bay windows, and one of the bedrooms has a built-in armoire. Pets are welcome with owner’s approval.

Logan Square (1 bed, 1 bed)—To be closer to the Center City action, take a look at this one-bedroom apartment in a recently converted rowhome. It has an open floor plan and all new appliances, mixed in with an exposed brick wall. Got pets? Sorry, but you’ll have to look elsewhere.

East Passyunk (1 bed, 1 bath)—What this apartment lacks in size (it’s 575 square feet) it makes up in outdoor space. This new apartment is one of the few units in the building next to Gold Star Park that comes with outdoor space—600 square feet total in the form of a wrap-around patio. Inside, there’s in-unit laundry and pets are welcome, too.

Graduate Hospital (1 bed, 1 bath)— For a pad with character, check out this 1,281-square-foot apartment in Graduate Hospital. The pet-friendly rental features an open floor plan with original tin ceilings throughout, as well as a more contemporary kitchen. All that may appease the fact that the fireplace is only decorative.

South Philly (3 beds, 2 baths)—To really stretch $1,500 a month, look to South Philly just north of all of the stadiums. There’s this apartment, part of new construction, that has three big bedrooms, lots of storage, and in-unit laundry. Just small pets will be considered.
