Historic Rittenhouse carriage house asks $2.35M after major makeover

It’s been completely transformed from top to bottom

The 2000 block of Chancellor Street in Rittenhouse Square is a lesson in charm. It’s lined with a series of historic and colorful carriage houses, including one that just hit the market after undergoing a transformative makeover both inside and out.

The 19th-century carriage house at 2022-24 Chancellor Street last sold two years ago for $1.2 million. At the time, it served multiple purposes, with office space on the ground floor and residential units on the second and third floors.

Today, it’s on the market as a four-bedroom, four-bath condo. Its new look features a paint job on the outside (it’s now a pink hue, not aqua). Meanwhile, the dated office space and residential units have been replaced with high-end finishes and features like Carrara marble counter tops, new hardwood floors, and gas fireplace on the first floor.

The four bedrooms remain on the second and third floors, and there’s access to a roof deck off one of the rooms on the top floor.

The home is on the market for $2,350,000. The property’s two-car garage is part of a homeowner’s association, so there are $158 monthly HOA fees. Take a tour of the 4,375-square-foot home below.
