Welcome back to Curbed Comparisons, a dive into the options available for a certain price point in various Philly neighborhoods. Is one person’s townhouse another’s studio? This week we’re looking at options renting for around $1,800 a month.
Cedar Park (3 beds, 2 baths)—Our options this week begin in Cedar Park, where this new apartment is waiting for its new tenant(s) for $1,795 a month. The 1,432-square-foot unit is bi-level and located in a walkup, but it’s never been lived in before. Plus, the unit comes with a private backyard and it’s located on Baltimore Avenue, right along the trolley lines.
Rittenhouse (1 bed, 1 bath)—Here’s a rare find in Rittenhouse for $1,800 a month. It’s a three-story apartment with a working fireplace and in-unit laundry. The kitchen is in the basement down a spiral staircase. Pets are welcome with owner’s OK and a $250 deposit.
Old City (1 bed, 1 bath)—This 902-square-foot apartment touts itself as the only renovated unit in the building. That means all new appliances and finishes, although it’s hard to say if there’s a dishwasher included in that small kitchen. Still, it has tall ceilings, big windows, and is located right in the heart of Old City.
Northern Liberties (1 bed, 1.5 baths)—Located in a historic building in Northern Liberties is this loft apartment clocking in at 889 square feet. Expect high ceilings, in-unit laundry, and new appliances and finishes. All that, plus access to a community roof deck.
Fishtown (2 beds, 2 baths)—In the next neighborhood over is this 941-square-foot apartment in the new Arbor House development by Post Green Homes. It touts itself as being eco-friendly, and at night the whole building lights up with a special art installation. It’s also a qucik walk to the Berks Station on the El.
