Welcome back to Curbed Comparisons, a dive into the options available for a certain price point in various Philly neighborhoods. Is one person’s townhouse another’s studio? Let’s find out! This week we’re looking at rentals in the $1,300 monthly price range.
Rittenhouse Square (Studio, 1 bath)—If you want to live in the heart of the city, you can always count on finding a studio at Embassy Suites for a smaller price point. At 350 square feet, this is by far the tiniest rental on this week’s list. But there’s a fitness center in the building and pets are welcome for an additional $25 a month, tacked onto the $1,285 monthly rent.
Washington Square West (Studio, 1 bath)—A few blocks east of the Rittenhouse studio is this roomier studio in a walkup in Washington Square West. At 800 square feet, it’s much more spacious, with tall windows and classy chandelier, although counter space may be an issue. Cats are welcome, too. Rent is $1,295 a month.
Graduate Hospital (2 beds, 1 bath)—This apartment’s monthly rent just went to the chopping block, bringing it down to $1,350. That rents a 750-square-foot apartment in a two-story walkup. Expect new hardwood floors, appliances, and cabinetry. No word on pets.
Northern Liberties (2 beds, 1 bath)—Located in a gated community in Northern Liberties is this two-bedroom rental that clocks in at 648 square feet. It has all the basics, including a dishwasher, and it seems to get a lot of light. Its monthly rent is $1,250.
Kensington (1 bed, 1 bath)—For $1,295 a month, rent out this 950-square-foot apartment in a new triplex. It’s on the top floor, which means lots of light and easy access to the community roof deck. Pets are welcome, too, for an extra fee.
