It's the most wonderful time of the year! Today marks the start of Curbed Cup 2017, our annual competition to name the best neighborhood in Philly.

But before the battle begins, we need your nominations! Some important background: Each year Curbed Philly pits neighborhoods against each other in a winner-take-all bracket challenge. Last year, Fishtown took the title in both 2014 and 2016, dethroning Pennsport, which came out on top in a nail-biting 2015 Curbed Cup. East Passyunk was the 2013 winner, while Passyunk Square took the inaugural title in 2012.

Here's where you come in: Nominate your neighborhood by leaving a comment in this post or shooting us an email to the tipline. We'll tabulate the entries to form a Sweet 16 of the Philly neighborhoods. Then, we'll put it to a reader vote between Dec. 12 and Dec. 31. The winner gets crowned the top neighborhood in January.

And don't just namedrop. Tell us why your neighborhood deserves to win the Curbed Cup! Has it experienced a building boom in the last year? Have restaurants and retailers been setting up shop in droves?

(Just remember: Every sliver of Philly is someone's home, so be kind to your neighbor by not badmouthing where they live.)

Give us the insider’s scoop and it could be the reason your neighborhood takes the title in 2017!
