There’s character, but room for updates, too

Brown Street in the Fairmount neighborhood is lined with stately brick rowhomes that are loaded with potential, like this home with Victorian vibes. Down the block from that property is this house at 2512 Brown Street, which is in a similar state in that it has character, but there’s plenty of room for updates, too.

There really is a lot of room here: The home clocks in at 2,337 square feet and features four bedrooms and 3.5 bathrooms. The facade of the property looks to be in pretty good shape, down to its cornice and refinished double doors. The millwork in the foyer and refinished hardwood floors on the first floor are pretty stunning, too.

The kitchen, past the dining room, leaves a lot to be desired, although there are new appliances and a nice breakfast bar that then opens to a back patio. The upper two stories are carpeted, too, and the bathrooms are a tad dated. Here, too, off the master bedroom is some bonus outdoor space.

The asking price of the home is $565,000. There are two open houses this weekend, on Saturday, February 25 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Sunday, February 26 from 12 to 2 p.m.
