Welcome back to Curbed Comparisons, a dive into the options available for a certain price point in various Philly neighborhoods. Is one person’s townhouse another one’s studio? Let’s see what $1,150/month rents in Rittenhouse, Fairmount, and more.
Rittenhouse Square (studio, 1 bath)—If you prefer location over space, this Rittenhouse studio is where it’s at. It’s located in lovely brownstone, and despite the lack of bedrooms there are tall ceilings and large windows. The kitchen is tucked away behind French doors, and don’t count on any counter space. Pets are welcome with owner approval.
Port Richmond (2 beds, 1 bath)—To really stretch your money, head up to booming Port Richmond. This simple 2-bedroom apartment clocks in at 670 square feet and sits right above the popular River Wards coffee shop. There’s in-unit laundry, but sorry, no pets.
Fairmount (1 bed, 1 bath)—In Fairmount, $1,150 a month rents you this sunny, 850-square-foot apartment in a rowhome. It has some character with those exposed beams, plus a big kitchen and dining space. But you’ll have to look elsewhere if you’re on the hunt for a dishwasher or have pets.
Cedar Park (1 bed, 1 bath)—Located right by Clark Park, this 1-bedroom is located in a Victorian rowhome. It looks like it’s pretty sunny and spacious, and it’s one of the rare 1-bedroom units that has in-unit laundry. Pets are also welcome, but you’ll have to pay extra.
Temple (2 beds, 1 bath)—A short walk from Temple’s campus, this 2-bedroom apartment was recently renovated and has in-unit laundry, a dishwasher, and even some small outdoor space. It’s also just a couple of blocks from the Broad Street Line.
