It’s not often that homes in East Oak Lane come on the market, so this new listing of a stone home with incredibly ornate millwork inside is a real treat.

The 6-bedroom, 3.5-bath home dates back to 1900, according to the listing, and immediately impresses from the curb with its Wissahickon schist stone exterior and wrap-around porch.

But inside is where the home really wows. A former owner, who was a carpenter, left his mark throughout the home with embellished millwork at the doorways of nearly every room on the first floor.

Although the home has that old-world charm, the current owners have made some important updates to the property. There are new heating and plumbing systems, as well as replaced windows mixed in with the home’s original stained glass windows.

There’s also a two-car carriage house on the property, which in its entirety is 4,520 square feet. With an asking price of $389,900, that comes out to $92 per square foot.
