Philly rent comparison: What $1,600 rents right now

These apartments all have one thing in common: Access to a pool

Welcome back to Curbed Comparisons, a dive into the options available for a certain price point in various neighborhoods. With summer on its way and the heatwave Philly is experiencing at this very moment, we decided to look for apartments that offer a quick way to escape the heat: Units with pools. Is one person's apartment another person's studio with a lap pool? Let's find out! Today's price: $1,600/month.

City Avenue (1 bed, 1 bath)—If you’re willing to live on the edge of the city near Bala Cynwyd, $1,575 rents a 1-bedroom unit in the Madison tower at Presidential City. One of the most impressive perks to the recently renovated apartment complex is its Sora Pools Club, which has multiple pools and is surrounded by fire pits and bocce courts.

Rittenhouse Square (Studio, 1 bath)This $1,666/month studio at 1500 Locust doesn’t offer much breathing room, but at least there’s access to its roof top pool. The covered pool, dubbed Panorama Club, features cabanas and fitness classes, too.

Center City (Studio, 1 bath)—A 460-square-foot apartment in the recently renovated Sterling building is available for $1,588 a month. That earns residents access to the apartment building’s new roof top pool.

Washington Square (1 bed, 1 bath)—For just under $1,600 a month, you can rent a 600-square-foot apartment and live right on Washington Square. This unit is in the Hopkinsin House and has access to a roof top pool.
