2012 Spruce Street is not the only breathtaking brownstone on this block in Rittenhouse Square, nor is it the only one for sale. But it may be one of the only homes with a five-story atrium and nine fireplaces.

This isn’t the first time this 5-bedroom, 5-bathroom home on Spruce Street has hit the market. It originally listed in 2013 for $4,300,000, and has been on and off the market ever since.

Now, it’s returned with a smaller price tag of $3,690,000 and listing photos in hopes that this stunner will finally find a buyer.

Some background: The 7,155-square-foot home dates back to 1860 and sits along the stately row of other brownstones along the 2000 block of Spruce. Since purchasing the property for $695,000 in 2000, the owners spent years restoring the home, both inside and out, finishing out with a roof replacement this year.

The millwork and crown molding throughout the home is just stunning, whether it’s the wooden fireplace mantles or the built-in benches spanning seemingly every level on the original staircase.

The top two stories of the four-story home is where all of the bedrooms are located, including the master suite and it’s 12-foot-tall ceilings. Out back, there’s a deck and two parking spaces.

Will all of that, plus the smaller price tag, entice someone to buy the home? Perhaps, but until then we’ll be over here suffering from major house envy.
