Philly rent comparison: What $1,500 rents right now

With options in Fishtown, Manayunk, Center City, and more

Welcome back to Curbed Comparisons, a dive into the options available for a certain price point in various Philly neighborhoods. This week we’re looking at options renting for around $1,500 a month.

Manayunk (4 beds, 1 bath)—In this hilly neighborhood on the Schuylkill, $1,495 goes a long way, renting this pet-friendly, three-story rowhome with four bedrooms. They appear to be on the smaller side, but the third-floor loft is a cool space. There’s also a backyard patio, and Manayunk’s Main Street is a short walk away.

Fishtown (1 bed, 1 bath)—Here’s a brand new apartment renting for $1,537 a month in Fishtown. The units in this loft-style apartment building have large, factory-style windows, in-unit laundry, and other industrial-style finishes. Its location at 426 Memphis Street puts you a short walk to Frankford Avenue.

Washington Square West (1 bed, 1 bath)—For exactly $1,500 a month, you can live right on Jewelers Row. This recently renovated unit features details like hardwood floors, all new appliances, and a large window that looks over the iconic street.

Rittenhouse Square (1 bed, 1 bath)—Right on the edge of the Rittenhouse neighborhood is this bi-level apartment that has a lot of old-world charm, from original hardwood floors to built-ins to a decorate fireplace. The floor plan is a tad unusual in that the kitchen is located on the lower level. But there’s also a shared courtyard and laundry.

Temple (3 beds, 1 bath)—This $1,500 rowhome is a quick walk to Temple’s Campus and the Susquehanna-Dauphin Station on the Broad Street Line. At 1,290 square feet, the unit is one of the larger rentals on this list, and features details like decorative fireplace, a built-in armoire in one of the bedrooms (with a sink!), and a backyard.
