From the front, this recently built Manayunk home looks like much of the other new townhouses going up all throughout Philly. But it saves its surprise for the backyard, where there’s a lush, landscaped oasis waiting.

The 3,600-square-foot home was built in 2013 and features four bedrooms and two and a half baths. It’s a big house, with the bedrooms taking up the upper levels; the master suite and another bedroom take up the third floor. There’s also a pilot house on the fourth floor that leads to a large roof deck.

When it’s too hot for the roof deck, it’s easy to imagine descending to the deep backyard, which secluded by a stone wall to one side and a wooden fence to the other. The backyard is separated into three areas, including a paved patio, a grassy garden, and a shaded fire pit in the very back.

The home at 4741 Sheldon Street is also a 15-minute walk down to the Schuylkill River Trail. Its asking price is $550,000.
