Park(ing) Day Philadelphia back for the 10th year in a row! Today, artists, designers, and planners will be transforming dozens of parking spots into mini parks throughout the city.

The San Francisco-founded event was founded as a fun way to promote green and pedestrian-friendly urban spaces. Park(ing) Day first came to Philadelphia in 2008, when about 25 artists, businesses, and designers participated in the event. Each year since then the number of participants has grown; this year, doubled, about 60 metered parking spots approximately 170 square feet in size will be on display as parklets.

Here’s a regularly updated map with all of the participating parklets, so you can see if any of them are close enough that you can sneak out and enjoy them during your lunch break. Otherwise, they’ll be gone before you know it—the parklets turn back into parking spots by 5 p.m. today.
