Leasing is in full swing for the high-end apartments at the new 34-story Alexander building next to the Mormon Temple, but the retail space is no longer up for grabs with the announcement that an early education center will set up shop on the ground floor.

The Learning Experience will open one of its early education academies at the Alexander in late 2018, Greystar property management said this week. The Learning Experience has locations across the U.S., and is for children six weeks to six years old.

“This center will not only offer a convenient and safe childcare option for residents of The Alexander, but for parents living and working nearby as well,” said Scott Anderson, senior vice president of US Business at The Learning Experience in a statement.

The 11,000-square-foot center will have its own private access from the residential portion of the building. Along with separate classrooms, there will also be playgrounds with designated areas designed for different age groups.

Meanwhile, the RAMSA- and BLTa-designed Alexander has started leasing its 277 luxury apartments, which range in price from $1,675 to $5,920 a month. Move-ins start as early as February. You can see a sneak peek of the tower—and the views from its residential observation deck—here.
