Welcome back to Curbed Comparisons, a dive into the options available for a certain price point in various Philly neighborhoods. Is someone’s townhouse another’s studio? Let’s find out! Today’s price point: Around $1,400 a month.
Washington Square West (1 bed, 1 bath)—After undergoing a top-to-bottom renovation, this Washington Square West walk-up now has five new apartments, and one of the first floor units is available for $1,395 a month. It’s a basic open floor plan, with the bedroom in the back and shared laundry. The bathroom is accessible through the bedroom.
Callowhill (1 bed, 1 bath)—Over in Callowhill, $1,450 a month rents this loft with tall ceilings and 1,225 square feet of space. It has that modern industrial aesthetic, if that’s what you’re looking for, in-unit laundry, and huge windows. Pets are welcome, too.
Graduate Hospital (2 beds, 1 bath)—Here’s a sunny apartment in a walk-up asking $1,450 a month. The bi-level unit features hardwood floors and built-ins throughout. Counter space may be an issue in the corner kitchen, but that’s because there’s stacked laundry tucked back here, too.
Rittenhouse (Studio, 1 bath)—The tiniest rental at this price point is this 500-square-foot studio in the Chatham building in the heart of Rittenhouse. Thought short on space, the unit is big on character, with hardwood floors and wainscoting. Cats are welcome, too and rent is $1,385 a month.
Port Richmond (3 beds, 1 bath)—If you’re looking for a lot of bedrooms, look north to Port Richmond at this three-bedroom home asking $1,450 a month. The 1,200-square-foot rental was recently renovated, so expect new appliances and finishes throughout. Cats are welcome roommates.
