Welcome back to Curbed Comparisons, a dive into the options available for a certain price point in various Philly neighborhoods. Is someone’s townhouse another’s studio? Let’s find out! Today’s price point: $1,350 a month.
Washington Square West (1 bed, 1 bath)—This tiny 398-square-foot condo rental is in the heart of Washington Square West. Though short on storage in the actual apartment, there’s access to a storage unit in the basement, which also has laundry. There’s also a community courtyard. Pets are welcome on a case by case basis.
Garden Court (1 bed, 1 bath)—Here’s a 473-square-foot apartment for rent in West Philly, close to University City. There are finishes like bamboo floors and marble bathroom floors, plus in-unit laundry. It’s walkable to restaurants, retail, and University City, but FWIW the unit comes with a designated parking space.
Northern Liberties (1 bed, 1 bath)—In Northern Liberties, this one-bedroom apartment is on the rental market after undergoing a makeover. Along with a new bathroom, there’s a patio off the bedroom (outdoor furniture can be included in the lease). But to rent this pad for $1,350 a month, you’ll have to sign an 18-month lease.
Kensington (2 beds, 1 bath)—This price point goes farther in Kensington, where this pet-friendly, 850-square-foot rowhome is for rent. The listing is short on details, but you can count on a dishwasher, a finished basement, and a private back patio. It’s also a couple of blocks from Huntingdon Station on the El.
Rittenhouse (0 beds, 1 bath)—It’s possible to live just a block off Rittenhouse Square at this price point, if you’re willing to give up some serious square footage. This efficiency studio clocks in at just 370 square feet, but manages to squeeze in a dishwasher and a recently updated bathroom.
