The Sunfield estate, a stately stone mansion that sits on the edge of Wissahickon Valley Park, is looking for its next owner and asking $4.5 million.
The home at 9006-9010 Crefeld Street is not publicly for sale, but it is being quietly listed while it undergoes extensive renovations, according to listing agent Priscilla Begier. It’s located on nearly four acres next to the park in Chestnut Hill.
Sunfield dates back to 1915 and was designed by Zantinger, Borie, and Medary. It’s tucked into a hill and has a wrap-around stone porch that leads to the home’s gorgeous grounds. In its long history, it has only had a few owners.

It’s a grand six-bedroom home, clocking in a 9,822 square feet with seven full bathrooms and a couple of powder rooms. Throughout, there are 10-foot-tall ceilings, multiple fireplaces, and crown molding.
Of course, the home is being updated at the moment so expect some changes, including a renovated kitchen and a swanky master bathroom with a large soaking tub.
Take a tour of the grounds and see some renderings below.
