Welcome back to Curbed Comparisons, a dive into the options available for a certain price point in various Philly neighborhoods. Today’s price point: $1,200 a month.
Kensington (2 beds, 1 bath)—Right in Kensington not far from haunts like Memphis Taproom is this rowhome rental, offering up 812 square feet of space for $1,195 a month. Though it’s sans dishwasher, there is in-unit laundry and one of the two bedrooms has an extra den off to the side. Plus, there’s a backyard patio for when the weather’s nice. Pets are welcome for an additional fee.
Washington Square West (Studio, 1 bath)—There’s the option to live in the heart of Washington Square West, which is pretty much walkable to anything and everything. But this particular unit is really tight on space, clocking in at 350 square feet. Despite the small quarters, the bathroom and kitchen have been recently renovated and there’s a lot of historic character to be had. It’s asking $1,195 in monthly rent.
Cobbs Creek (3 beds, 1 bath)—Located a short walk from the Market-Frankford line is this recently renovated rowhome in West Philly. There’s room to spare and a brand new kitchen and bathroom, plus a fireplace and bay windows. Laundry’s included, too.
Overbrook (3 beds, 1 bath)—Here’s another West Philly home for rent, this time in Overbrook. Everything is pretty much new, from the kitchen to the hardwood floors, and there’s in-unit laundry in the basement. There’s also a front porch, and pets are welcome.
Germantown (3 beds, 2 baths)—Rounding out this week’s $1,200 options is this bi-level apartment located right in Maplewood Mall, a small enclave of shops that’s considered the first urban mall of its kind in the city. The whole unit has been updated recently, so expect new finishes and appliances throughout.
